This is a part-time, entry-level role designed with students in mind. You will learn alongside experienced technicians, work with real customers, and build practical repair and customer-service skills.
Starting Pay: $15 per hour Location: 2307 Hoffman Drive, Effingham Type: Part-time, in person
What you will do
- Begin each shift by reviewing the repair calendar and open tickets, confirming priorities and promised completion times.
- Listen carefully to customers, document symptoms and service needs, and ask questions that help narrow down the problem.
- Diagnose common hardware and software issues using iHelpU.Tech procedures, tools, and available resources.
- Perform approved device repairs and software services after training, following documented procedures and asking for guidance when needed.
- Provide patient, one-on-one software assistance and explain technical steps in language customers can understand.
- Keep customers and teammates informed when questions, delays, or unexpected findings affect a repair.
- Protect customer privacy and handle every device, account, accessory, tool, and part with care.
- Keep the workstation, repair notes, tools, parts, and customer property clean, organized, and accurately documented.
Training and growth
You may work alongside an experienced technician until you are ready to complete tasks independently. iHelpU.Tech participates in Apple's Independent Repair Provider program, which can provide access to Apple repair training. Role-related technical or customer-service training may need to be completed by an assigned date.
Student-friendly schedule
- School days: typically 3:30 PM-6:30 PM, Monday-Friday.
- Summer and school breaks: typically during our 11:00 AM-5:00 PM weekday business hours.
We understand that school comes first. We ask team members to share school, activity, and extracurricular schedules early and to provide at least one week's notice for planned time off whenever possible. Final hours depend on availability and business needs.

No professional repair experience is required. High school and college students are encouraged to apply.
